Machine Description

  1. There is a pot of stainless steel. It is used for washing scoured and bleached cotton fabric with detergent. Below the pot, there is a heat source.
  2. There is another pot for rinsing the fabric.
  3. Another pot is used for mordanting.
  4. One pot is used for extracting the dyes with filtering.
  5. For after-processing dyeing, rinsing pots are used.
  6. After dyeing, a dryer may be used.

Working Procedure

  1. Scoured and bleached cotton fabric is washed with detergent at 60℃ for 10 minutes.
  2. Rinsed the fabric.

Precautions

  1. Fabric must be scoured and bleached.
  2. Rinsing and squeezing should be done.
  3. Dyeing temperature and time should be maintained.
  4. The washing temperature should be carefully maintained.
  5. The recipe should be accurately followed.
  6. Carefully filter the extracted dyes.

Conclusion

Experimenting with different amounts of onion skin results in varying shades. For a more vibrant color, we can add a small amount of vinegar to the dye bath, but natural dyeing can be an experimental process, and results may vary.
